Mikaela joined Elliott & MacLean in June, 2008.
She brings to the firm a varied background of legal experience in both
the public and private sectors. Prior to joining the firm, Mikaela
practiced at the law firm of Devine, Millimet & Branch, P.A. in
Manchester, New Hampshire. She also interned at the offices of the Maine
Attorney General and the Sheriff of Cumberland County, Maine.
Mikaela is Maine raised and educated, having attended both University of
Maine, Orono, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English,
magna cum laude, and the University of Maine School of Law, where she
received her Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude. At Maine Law, she was a
member of the Trial Team, a teacher assistant in Property Law, and
co-chair of the Environmental Law Society. She also received Maine Law's
Pro Bono Publico Award for providing over 80 hours of pro bono service
during law school.
Since joining Elliott & MacLean, Mikaela has continued her commitment to
public service. In addition to her regular caseload, Mikaela has
represented clients in a variety of court-appointed and pro bono cases
in the areas of family law, landlord/tenant law, criminal law, real
estate, and estate planning. Her other areas of practice include general
civil litigation, probate litigation, and business law.
Mikaela is admitted in the jurisdictions of Maine, New Hampshire, and
Massachusetts. She is also a member of the Maine Bar Association, the
New Hampshire Bar Association, the Knox County Bar Association, the
Maine Trial Lawyers' Association, and the Maine Association of Criminal
Defense Lawyers. Mikaela is the current Secretary for the New Lawyers'
Section of the Maine State Bar Association.
Mikaela lives in Rockland where she enjoys spending time outdoors with
her fiancé and their brindled Labrador Retriever.
